He is Professor of International Business and Finance and Director of the Faculty Innovation Center at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, where he has taught for over 28 years. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration in International Management from Nova Southeastern University and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from American University. His teaching integrates experiential learning tools, including AI applications and business simulations, to prepare students for the complexities of international markets. Dr. Girlando’s current research explores cultural convergence and divergence, using Hofstede’s model to examine value shifts between Italy and India. He has received multiple awards for teaching excellence and curriculum innovation. Beyond academia, he is passionate about therapeutic riding, international education, photography, and culinary arts. His work bridges research, practice, and pedagogy, with a deep commitment to fostering global citizenship among the next generation of business leaders.
